JLPT

The Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) is the world’s most widely recognised standardised examination for evaluating and certifying the Japanese-language proficiency of non-native speakers. Administered globally by the Japan Foundation and Japan Educational Exchanges and Services (JEES), the JLPT is held twice a year (July and December in most regions) and consists of five progressive levels, from N5 (beginner) to N1 (advanced).

JLPT Levels at a glance:

The test assesses four core skills — vocabulary, grammar, reading comprehension, and listening — but does not include speaking or writing sections. JLPT certification is widely valued for university admissions in Japan, employment opportunities with Japanese companies, visa and immigration processes, and professional credentialing worldwide.

At the Woxsen Japan Centre, our structured JLPT preparation programme combines expert classroom instruction with intensive practice using official and trusted resources. Whether you are starting from scratch or aiming for N1 mastery, we provide a clear, step-by-step pathway that builds linguistic competence alongside practical cultural insight — equipping you for academic success, career advancement, and deeper engagement with Japan.

JOIN US

The Woxsen Japan Centre warmly invites students, faculty, and staff from all disciplines and backgrounds to become part of our vibrant community.
